Phase modulating plug-in with an effect similar to feedback FM great for 80’s vibe keyboard or filthy dubstep bass – VST/AAX/AU
The Kilohearts Phase Distortion is a phase modulating plug-in with an effect similar to feedback FM great for 80’s vibe keyboard or filthy dubstep bass.
FM BUT AS AN EFFECT?
Are you tired of only warping signal amplitude like a pleb? Phase Distortion is here to deliver phase melting mayhem!
Traditionally, most distortion units overdrive and shape the amplitude of a signal in various ways to generate a rougher sound. Phase Distortion instead lets the signal modulate the phase of itself, essentially resulting in something similar to feedback FM. This way you can add that FM touch to any sound, to get a sweet retro sound or a deep rumbling bass.
KILOHEARTS ECOSYSTEM
This virtual effects plug-in is part of the Kilohearts Essentials plug-ins and one of a growing collection of that form the Kilohearts Ecosystem. They can be used as regular plugins (VST/AAX/AU) but also as Snapins when combined with other plug-ins from the Kilohearts Ecosystem. These lightweight and high-quality plug-ins have intuitive no-nonsense interfaces so you will be using them like a master in no time.
FEATURES:
- Drive: Controls the amount of distortion
- Normalize: Normalizes the signal, making the effect insensitive to input gain
- Tone: Filters the modulation to reduce high frequency noise
- Bias: Adds a constant phase offset to all harmonics
- Spread: Spreads phase offset for left and right channels for a stereo effect
- Mix: The dry/wet mix of this effect. A lower value will let some of the unmodified signal through
- Sidechain: Allow a secondary input to control the phase shift amount
